Spread the love

CASH, I didn’t come back to Sagebrush for a warm welcome. I came back to bury the father who disowned me and take over the ranch that was my birthright. Then the tornado hit. It ripped through the valley and leveled my inheritance to splinters. Now I’m a cowboy with nowhere to go, too stubborn to ask for help, and too broke to refuse it. Enter Pastor Mike. He’s new, he’s trying to hold a broken town together, and he just offered me the spare room in the parsonage. I should have said no. I have no business sharing close quarters with a man of the cloth. Especially a man whose kind eyes and gentle hands make me want things I swore I’d never need again. I thought he was just trying to be a friendly neighbor. But the closer we get to that tiny house, the more I realize I don’t want a friend. I want him.

MIKE, I came to Sagebrush to outrun the dark things in my past. I wanted a fresh start, a quiet pulpit, and a chance to do some good. Instead, I got a natural disaster. The town is in chaos, my congregation needs me, and then there’s Cash Callahan. He’s devastatingly handsome, perpetually scowling, and entirely alone. Offering him a place to stay was the right thing to do. It might also be the most dangerous mistake I’ve ever made. Cash is a storm all on his own. He pushes my buttons, tests my patience, and walks around my parsonage looking like a sin I’m desperate to commit. I preach acceptance. I tell this community that everyone is worthy of love. But as my own secrets threaten to catch up with me, I have to wonder if a grumpy, grieving cowboy will be the one to save me?

Book eight in the Sagebrush Cowboys series continues to capture the essence of love and redemption in a small Texas town. In this installment, we return to Sagebrush, where the community of broken gay cowboys continues to grow. This charming town has become a haven for love and second chances.

This time, we are introduced to Cash, who left Sagebrush ten years ago under less-than-favorable circumstances. He now returns to claim an unexpected inheritance. The twist is complemented by the introduction of Mike, the new preacher in town. Their paths intertwine, setting the stage for a heartfelt connection against the backdrop of Sagebrush.

While I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I was disappointed by the absence of several beloved characters from previous installments. Nonetheless, Cash and Mike are well-developed, likable characters who evoke empathy and anticipation for their journey together. As always, the narrative promises a satisfying happy-ever-after ending, a hallmark of the series.

This book is more than a love story; it’s a testament to the community spirit of Sagebrush, where love thrives in unexpected ways. Readers familiar with the series will appreciate the continued growth of this delightful town.
