Spread the love

Left to raise two young sons after the unexpected death of his wife, Dad’s life begins to unravel. Grief is messy and chaotic enough as it is, but when it takes the form of an unhinged and unwanted house guest – Crow – taunting him from the shadows, things start to spiral out of control…but maybe that’s exactly what Dad needs.

Benedict Cumberbatch does an excellent job portraying a grieving man after the devastating loss of his wife. The man finds himself submerged in an ocean of sorrow that seems impossible to escape. Grief can manifest in various ways, often becoming a heavy burden that weighs on both our emotions and our physical well-being. In this man’s case, his grief manifests in his art as a crow.

Amid the darkness of his sorrow, the crow in his artwork begins to seem real in his mind. Initially, he perceives the crow as an enemy, a haunting presence that heightens his anger and frustration. However, as time progresses, he realizes that this creature is not merely a symbol of his anguish but an essential part of his healing journey. The crow becomes a conduit for his grief, allowing him to express the turmoil within visually.

Through the evolving relationship with the crow, the man begins to confront his emotions. What was once a mere representation of his grief transforms into an ally that helps him process his pain. The crow serves as his conscience, guiding him to come to terms with the deep sorrow he harbors. Ultimately, through his connection to the crow, he embarks on a path toward acceptance, enabling him to deal with the void left by his wife’s passing. Thoughtful and artistic direction makes this a memorable experience.
