Conner Mitchell
lives a picture-perfect lie. To the world, he’s a wealthy success story with the ideal girlfriend and a bright future. But beneath the surface, he’s a man at war with himself. The one night he spent with Kai all those years ago haunts him, dragging him back to the town he swore he’d never return to.

As eerie incidents plague Kai’s home, Conner steps in, reigniting a connection neither can ignore. But can Kai trust the man who once broke his heart, and will Conner finally have the courage to embrace the truth?
Few narratives resonate as deeply as the one crafted in this compelling book. It skillfully takes us on a journey from high school dilemmas right through to the nuances of late 20s adulthood. Our protagonist, Kai, confronts a life riddled with challenges—from his native American heritage to the profound absence of his father and distant mother, leaving him with a sense of unworthiness. Yet, despite these hurdles, his story is one of resilience and growth.
On the flip side, we meet Connor, the embodiment of privilege, who seems to have it all—glamor, wealth, and societal expectations. But beneath the surface, he, too, grapples with insecurities that render him relatable. Their lives collide after a singular incident in high school, marking the start of an emotional rollercoaster. Years later, when they inevitably cross paths again, Kai’s long-buried feelings for Connor surge to the forefront, complicating matters that were once black and white.
Adding another layer of intrigue is the spectral element haunting Kai’s and his roommate’s dwelling. This ghostly presence mirrors Kai’s inner turmoil, making for a multi-dimensional narrative that is hard to resist. The author deftly fleshes out both characters, ensuring readers are invested in their burgeoning romance and personal growth. Indeed, the interplay between Kai’s struggles, Connor’s exploration of his sexuality, and the eerie influence of the ghost creates a story that is sure to captivate.
About The Author
Christie Gordon started writing gay and MM romance books after accidentally finding Yaoi fanfiction and falling in love with it. I’ve always had stories in my head and enjoyed writing, so I decided to try my hand at the genre and took up fiction writing classes at a local community college.
I published my first MM romance book with eXtasy Books back in 2009. I always follow my muses wherever they take me, writing a mixture of paranormal, historical, and contemporary romances. I enjoy writing about men discovering themselves, overcoming obstacles, and finding love in the process, along with a happy ending.
My day job is in the high-tech industry, and I have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s in Business Administration. I currently live in the Phoenix, Arizona metro area but I have also lived in the Bay Area of California and grew up in Minnesota. If I’m not writing, I watch boys love dramas or create digital artwork. I’m also a mother of two young adult sons, whose antics keep me on my toes. My one-eyed rescue pug is always by my side, snoring the day away.
