Casey
Football is my future—my escape, my identity. But when my Beamer craps out in a sketchy part of town, I meet Ryker Hart, the grumpy mechanic who calls me a pretty boy and still makes my stomach flip. Fixing my car turns into coaching his brother, crashing dinners, and falling harder than I should. He’s rough around the edges and hiding his pain. But when he lets me in, I want everything, even if that means risking my career before the draft.
Ryker
I don’t have time for cocky quarterbacks with BMWs and perfect smiles. I’m busy keeping my shop running and my kid brother on track after our mom landed in prison. But Casey Carter crashes into my life like he owns it, and somehow ends up coaching my brother, eating dinner with us, and making me laugh like no one ever has. He shouldn’t want a guy like me. And I definitely shouldn’t be dreaming of a future with him.
In the second book of the Desert Football Series, ‘Quarterback Drill,’ Casey, a spirited quarterback, meets Ryker, a dedicated mechanic. From their first encounter, Casey’s competitive nature drives him to engage with Ryker, who initially responds with a dismissive attitude. This interaction sets the stage for a compelling book filled with emotional depth and football action.
The setting highlights a family grappling with financial struggles and personal challenges. Ryker juggles work, bills, and the responsibility of caring for his younger brother. This shift away from traditional football themes offers a fresh perspective, making Casey’s presence even more impactful.
Casey begins to shed a new light on Ryker’s life, creating the emotional drama intertwined with football. The dynamics between the two characters develop throughout the story. Amidst the heat of competition and personal struggles, you can expect a satisfying conclusion that highlights both passion and resilience.
‘Quarterback Drill’ is more than just a sports romance; it’s a story of hope, challenges, and the transformative power of connection.
About The Author
Christie Gordon started writing gay and MM romance books after accidentally finding Yaoi fanfiction and falling in love with it. I’ve always had stories in my head and enjoyed writing, so I decided to try my hand at the genre and took up fiction writing classes at a local community college.
I published my first MM romance book with eXtasy back in 2009. I always follow my muses wherever they take me, writing a mixture of paranormal, historical, and contemporary romances. I enjoy writing about men discovering themselves, overcoming obstacles, and finding love in the process, along with a happy ending.
My day job is in the high-tech industry, and I hold a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration. I currently live in the Phoenix, Arizona, metro area, but I have also lived in the Bay Area of California and grew up in Minnesota. When I’m not writing, I watch boys’ love dramas or create digital artwork. I’m also a mother of two young adult sons, whose antics keep me on my toes. My one-eyed rescue pug is always by my side, snoring the day away.
