Author’s Notes:

I wrote Lovers’ Morning Hold days following the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The melancholy at the time prompted me to write the story. In the end, I’m very proud and satisfied with what I’ve written and documented.

In 2005, the story was chosen to be included in the anthology, Best Gay Love Stories 2005, published by Alyson Books. It was my first bona fide literary sale, earning me a $25.00 check.

I put the story in my digital file and let it rest. In 2016, I decided to create the audiobook. I cast voice artist Faris Monshi to narrate. Faris did an exceptional job in bringing just the right amount of drama, sadness, and romance to the story.

My long-time cover artist, Jorge Velasquez, created the cover art. Another exceptional job.

Lovers’ Morning Hold has been read in public at 9/11 Memorial events throughout Los Angeles. Fast forward, summer of 2025, I decided to create the paperback book of Lovers’ Morning Hold.

This is it.

A new re-start. New cover art. Accompanying audiobook.

No word in the story has been changed.

Since he had gone to Northbrook Junior High and Northbrook High School in Houston.
I was always hoping to get these titles into the school libraries. Unfortunately, no matter how many times I called, emailed, or pushed, I never got anywhere with the school’s staff or libraries. It doesn’t make sense.

Both books are available in audio and are narrated by award-winning voice artist Faris Monshi.
