Courting Death – TWiT Book Review

Courting Death Feature Image
Spread the love

Theo knows two things when he transfers to Arminius University: he will die and his rare gift of foresight is useless to stop it. When he discovers a makeshift coven with similar motivations of conquering death, he believes he’s finally found the answer.

But how far is too far?
Carlos’s goals are simple: get a degree in mythos in literature, make friends, and be happy. Oh, and fall in love. Preferably with someone who’s not terrified of his demonic form or that he’ll steal their soul in their sleep.
Easy. Yeah, not so much.
Only the future knows.

If you are in search of a book that flawlessly blends witchcraft, demonic crossings to the afterlife, and an unexpected love story, ‘Courting Death’ by S. Bolanos is an excellent choice. This captivating read will take you on a roller coaster of emotions and keep you hooked until the very last page.

At the heart of ‘Courting Death’ is the fascinating relationship between Theo, a witch, and Carlos, a kisin (demon). In a world where witches and demons are usually at odds, their friendship and eventual romance defy expectations. The characters’ journeys are compelling, showcasing themes of love, family, and the supernatural.

Bolanos doesn’t just stop at crafting an intriguing love story; ‘Courting Death’ is also packed with action, danger, and adventure. Theo and Carlos face challenges that test their courage and commitment, making every chapter more gripping than the last. The dynamic between the characters, combined with the suspenseful plot, makes for a read that you will not want to put down.

S. Bolanos excels in character development. Each character in ‘Courting Death’ is richly detailed, making them feel like living, breathing individuals. Bolanos’ writing style brings the pages to life, making it easy for readers to immerse themselves in the world she has created.

Overall, ‘Courting Death’ is a masterfully written book that combines elements of fantasy, romance, and adventure. Fans of the genre will find themselves enchanted by the story of Carlos and Theo, eager to explore every twist and turn. This is not the first book I have enjoyed by S. Bolanos, and it certainly won’t be the last. I highly recommend adding ‘Courting Death’ to your reading list.
