Company OnStage is holding the first auditions of its 2018-2019 season on Sunday and Monday, July 29 and 30, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. in their new performance home in the former Family Life Center on the campus of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4930 West Bellfort, Houston, Texas 77035. No appointment is required, but please arrive 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork. Headshots and resumes are appreciated but not required. Auditions consist of cold readings from the scripts; there are no prepared monologues. There are no musicals at this round of auditions.
They will be auditioning three productions from their Young Audience Series, Evening Series, and Local Authors Series.

YOUNG AUDIENCE/ALL AGES PRODUCTION
“THE WIZARD OF OZ”

Wicked Witch of the West- A Witch preferably of the non-green persuasion
Scarecrow- An inhabitant of a field in Oz. Preferably male but can be played by a female
Tin Man- Another inhabitant of Oz. Should be played by a male
Lion- A coward of a lion. Preferably played by a male of lion-like stature
The Wizard- an older gentleman with grandfather-like qualities and a bit eccentric.
The classic and beloved tale of young Dorothy Gale who lives on a Kansas farm with her Aunt Em, Uncle Henry, and her little dog Toto. When a tornado sweeps her away, she lands in the magical land of Oz, filled with strange and wonderful characters. She befriends the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion, who must help her evade the Wicked Witch of the West and get to the Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the one who can help her find her way home.

Patrons of Company OnStage and several other theatrical venues around Houston will certainly recognize and be familiar with Nicholas’s work as an actor, director, talented technical guru, our Actors in Wonderland theatrical summer camp instructor, and a prolific and talented writer. A master of the short play, his work has been featured in numerous “Spontaneous Smatterings” presented by Cone Man Running Productions, the “Houston Scriptwriters 10 x 10,” Cone Man Running Productions’ “Five-Minute Mile,” and the Playhouse 1969 “Short Play Festival.” Here he has curated his favorites to be presented all at once in an evening that will be nothing short of wildly entertaining. This production contains adult subject matter and some mature language.
