Dr. Carter Falon is content living a quiet life in a small town caring for his animal patients. That doesn’t mean he’s not looking for a distraction. After finding himself precariously wedged… naked and at the mercy of a drop-dead gorgeous construction worker, Carter hires his savior to renovate his home.
When Tanner Grady’s best friend and new niece needed him, he uprooted and relocated without a second thought. His life has since been centered on work and spending time with his family, but when he comes to the rescue of a cute vet, Tanner finds he’s a lot more interested in the homeowner than the house he’s renovating.
If I were, to sum up this book in one word, it would be “cute”. It was a light-hearted and comfortable read, filled with funny moments and just a touch of angst to keep things interesting. While I enjoyed the overall story, there were a few aspects that left me wanting more.
One of the drawbacks I found was the predictability of the antagonist in the story. I wished for more depth and complexity in that plotline. Exploring the motivations and backstory of the antagonist could have added an extra layer of intrigue to the story.
Another aspect that stood out to me was the minimal interaction between the two main characters and their friends. The focus of the book was primarily on building a relationship between the two guys, with little involvement from their friends. While this allowed for a more intimate exploration of their connection, I would have appreciated more scenes that showcased their interactions within their social circle.
Despite these minor drawbacks, I genuinely liked the book. It provided a cozy and enjoyable reading experience, perfect for those looking for a light-hearted escape. The funny moments sprinkled throughout the story brought a smile to my face, and the touch of angst added just the right amount of tension to keep me engaged.
However, I must admit that the ending left me wanting. Instead of a satisfying conclusion, it felt more like a sudden stop. I longed for a more conclusive ending, one that provided a sense of closure and left me with a feeling of “happily ever after”. Unfortunately, the book seemed to end abruptly, leaving me craving more resolution and a deeper understanding of the characters’ futures.
In conclusion, “Let Me Show You” is a cute and light-hearted read that offers moments of laughter and a touch of angst. While it may be predictable in some aspects and lacks certain plot details, it still manages to provide an enjoyable reading experience.
