Dante Montelli thought he could handle being married to a hitman, but he wasn’t prepared for this. Knowing Gabriel—the infamous X—was using their marriage as a front to hunt and kill Dante’s father is the ultimate betrayal. Even though Gabriel returned his father alive, the damage is done. Their marriage of convenience was built on a blood debt, and the foundation is crumbling.

Now, a new mystery has emerged: if the Montellis didn’t kill Gabriel’s father, who did?

Dante and Gabriel are forced into an uneasy alliance to find the actual killer. But as they hunt for the truth, the lethal attraction between them becomes impossible to ignore. In the explosive finale of The Hitman and The Heir, they must decide if they are still enemies or if their partnership is the only thing keeping them from a body bag. The mission is just getting started. The war has just begun.

The third and final installment of The Hitman & The Heir series delivers everything fans have come to love: sharp sass, nonstop criminal chaos, and Gabriel’s irresistibly reckless charm. As in the previous books, the story balances dark mafia intrigue with witty banter, making it thrilling and wildly entertaining.

Gabriel remains the standout character — a mouthy, quick-witted hitman whose confidence and sarcasm make him even more lovable. Now officially part of the Montelli family, he teams up with his husband, Dante, and his formidable father-in-law to confront a deadly threat from within. Dante’s uncle is determined to wipe them all out, but the mystery behind his targeting adds an extra layer of tension that keeps the pages turning.

The final book does an excellent job of tying together the series’ lingering questions and unraveling betrayals, motives, and murders in a way that feels both exciting and satisfying. The stakes are high, the action relentless, and the humor keeps the story from ever becoming too heavy.

Packed with snark, mafia drama, and fast-paced action, this finale is a satisfying, fun conclusion to the trilogy. It’s the kind of book that leaves you grinning, shaking your head at Gabriel’s antics, and wishing there were just one more installment.
