Spread the love

The second book of the Lycan Detective Duet.

Lycan Detective Joshua Hart and Elijah Bennett finally have the space to explore the love that has blossomed between them. Or they would if Josh hadn’t turned. Something that should have been impossible. Now he’s stuck and a danger to everyone, including himself. At his wits’ end, Elijah takes desperate measures to bring Josh’s mind back. But for every solution he finds, three more problems emerge. Then Josh’s medical leave runs out. In the blink of an eye, Josh is spirited away to an undisclosed location, straining an unbreakable bond, leaving Elijah frantic to find him. Communication has never been their strong suit, and it may have cost them everything. Clearly, they’re still keeping secrets, but not all truths set you free.

The second half of the story, featuring Joshua and Elijah, takes a different turn from the action-packed first book. This segment shifts from intense battles to a quieter yet equally compelling narrative centered on the hospital, the justice system, and a gripping trial. While some may find the lack of relentless action disappointing, the depth of character development is a significant draw.

As we delve deeper into the lives of Joshua and Elijah, their personalities shine through. Joshua emerges as the undeniable badass of the duo, displaying strength and determination. In contrast, Elijah’s stubbornness can be frustrating. It’s clear that patience is essential when dealing with Elijah, as his character evolves throughout this narrative.

The introduction of a dragon lawyer adds a fantastical twist, deftly maneuvering Joshua out of prison. This plot twist embodies hope and unconventional solutions in difficult situations. The story also introduces intriguing new characters and resolves ongoing tensions, such as Joshua’s relationship with his mother. As they grapple with challenges and the looming question of whether they will secure their pack, you are treated to heartwarming moments that culminate in a satisfying, happy-ever-after.
