It is my privilege to share news of an incredible film coming out soon about the Mormon Church, all it's anti-gay activities and its massive involvement with last year's Proposition 8. 
 
8: The Mormon Proposition was made by the filmmaker and documentarian, Reed Cowen.  Philanthropist, Bruce Bastian is the Executive Producer along with Reed.  Academy Award winning screenwriter of the movie "Milk," Dustin Lance Black is the Narrator.  The Producers are Emily Pearson, Steven Greenstreet and Christopher Volz.  It’s an all-star team.

Mayor Kathy Whitmire Returns to Houston to Receive Tribute

On Saturday October 31, 2009 at the Hilton Americas Hotel, celebrities, government officials and Houston’s community leaders will gather to celebrate 25 years of HoustonWorks USA and to honor former Houston Mayor Kathy Whitmire. Whitmire is returning to the city she governed for 10 years to receive HoustonWorks USA’s highest honor—the Founder Award.

Newly Released Security Camera Video Captures Horrific Beating of gay man

Days before the United States Senate is set to vote on federal legislation to protect the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community from hate violence, a shocking new security camera video was released this morning showing the brutality of hate violence.  The video, aired exclusively this morning on the local NY ABC affiliate, WABC, shows a Queens, NY gay man being horrifically beaten last Thursday in what New York police have classified an anti-gay hate crime.

Californians Against Hate was well represented in Washington, DC last weekend.  Fred Karger made the trip to be a part of the historic National Equality March on Washington, and he brought lots of Boycott Manchester Hotels T-Shirts to give away.

Rizi Nasele Timane' and the Gospel Truth Music Ministry are airing a 30-second commercial identifying the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community's struggle for full equality as a civil rights issue and promoting equality for all. The ad has been running locally in California on CNN, E TV and Bravo TV.
