Peaches, plums induce deliciously promising death of breast cancer cells

Breast cancer cells - even the most aggressive type - died after treatments with peach and plum extracts in lab tests at Texas AgriLife Research recently, and scientists say the results are deliciously promising. Not only did the cancerous cells keel over, but the normal cells were not harmed in the process.

Human Rights Campaign Statements on Pardon of Imprisoned Malawi Couple

Media reports indicate that Steven Monjeza and Tiwonge Chimbalanga, the Malawi couple recently given 14-year jail terms after being convicted of gross indecency and unnatural acts, have been granted a pardon and are being released. The Human Rights Campaign released the following statements:

House Passes "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" Repeal Amendment

Servicemembers United, the nation's largest organization of gay and lesbian troops and veterans, today proudly hailed the passage of the amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act in the House of Representatives that would repeal the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" law. The amendment, which was offered by Congressman Patrick Murphy (DPA), passed by a vote of 234 - 194.

Senator Ben Nelson Announces Support for DADT Repeal Amendment

Servicemembers United, the nation's largest organization of gay and lesbian troops and veterans, proudly applauded the announcement today by  Senator Ben Nelson (D-NE) that he would support the amendment to repeal the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" law being offered this week by Senator Joeseph Lieberman (I-CT) in the Senate Armed Services Committee markup of the National Defense Authorization Act.

New Poll Shows Overwhelming Support for “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” Repeal

A new poll shows that 78 percent of Americans believe lesbians and gays should be able to serve openly in the military. The CNN/Opinion Research survey comes just two days before expected House and Senate action on a “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” repeal measure on the National Defense Authorization Bill.
