Writer/director Rob Williams Making Gay Murder Mystery

Guest House Films, led by writer/director/producer Rob Williams and producer Rodney Johnson, will soon begin production of a gay murder mystery in Tampa, Florida. Out to Kill will involve gay men in a loft complex. They find a detective to help solve a murder there. Williams has planned a surprise ending, as well as photography that takes advantage of the tropical setting.

Two-time Olympic figure skating competitor, openly gay Johnny Weir urged in his weekly column today that there be no boycott of the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia next February to protest the recent escalation of Russian anti-gay measures.

Sister Act is Divine – Feel Good Musical is Even Better at Bass!

My opinion of the Broadway Musical lifted from the Hollywood Blockbuster is less than great.  Four out of five are something just this side of tragic and most of the others are produced by Disney.  The Whoopi Goldberg produced Sister Act The Musical is the most recent offering of the genre to North Texas theater fans.  After a three week run at Dallas’ Fair Park the tour packed up this week and made the trek to Fort Worth and Sundance Square’s Bass Hall.

With Rhode Island, 50 Million Americans Will Now Live in Marriage Equality States

The Rhode Island state House passed marriage equality legislation, putting the Ocean State on track to become the tenth state in America where gay and lesbian couples can legally marry.  The legislation, which passed with bipartisan support, will be signed into law by Gov. Lincoln Chafee later today in a historic signing ceremony on the steps of the Rhode Island State House.

Rhode Island Senate Republicans Unanimously Back Marriage Bill

The Rhode Island Senate Republican Caucus announced its support for a bill that would grant marriage rights for gay and lesbian couples, becoming the first unanimous decision by a legislative caucus of either party in the nation to back marriage equality legislation. The State Senate Judiciary Committee is expected to approve the legislation later today.
