K. D. Lang's Siss Bang Boom Tour Landed at Dallas' Amazing Meyerson Symphony Center Tuesday and it was a fun couple of hours with one of musics greatest talents.  Lang doesn't take herself or her sex symbol status (at least in the Lesbian Community) too seriously.

West Side Story, The Modern Day retelling of Romeo & Juliet is probably one of the greatest stage musicals ever written.  It is additionally a very important lesson about our negative opinions of people who are different than we are and the consequences these opinions can have.

I was looking forward to the stage recreation of one of the greatest movies of all time “The Wizard of Oz”.  The promotional material promised a show “presented with breathtaking special effects that will sweep the audience away”  Well much of the audience did sweep away, as group after group headed for the exit throughout the first act of a production suffering from unsurmountable sound problems.

I can only image the phone call when Theater Producer Margo Lions called John Waters and informed him she wanted to make one of his movies into a Broadway Musical.  Water's if you are not aware is the king of trash movies, his career started with such classics as “Hag in A Black Leather Jacket” and “Eat Your Makeup” and though he evolved over the years, I don't think anyone would consider Waters' mainstream.
