Wicked, Based on the novel “Wicked: The Life and Times of The Wicked Witch of the Westby Gregory Maguire returns to Dallas this week for the fourth time at Dallas Summer Musicals, and if ticket sales are any indication, this will not be its' last.

It would seem that it is a very minor difference.  Cathy Rigby as Peter Pan, Cathy Rigby is Peter Pan.  Such a little word, just two letters but the choice of “is” says this actress so embodies this role, plays it so expertly and flawlessly that the audience will believe that she is the character she plays.

Memphis Brings Broadway's Best to Fort Worth PDF Print E-mail

I was really looking forward to opening night of Memphis at Bass Hall in Fort Worth.  The four time Tony Award Winner (including 2010's Best Musical) was lauded as Broadway at its' best.  I was cautious with my enthusiasm, as last time I was this excited about a show was Young Frankenstein The Musical and it was a monster.  Memphis however lives up to the hype.  With a cast featuring some of the original Broadway cast Memphis not only doesn't disappoint it exceeded my wildest expectations.

West Side Story, the modern day retelling of Romeo & Juliet is probably one of the greatest stage musicals ever written.  It is additionally a very important lesson about our negative opinions of people who are different than we are and the consequences these opinions can have.
