As old files are removed, there are articles, reviews and other content that we wish to become part of our archives and remain viewable on the web for many years to come in a new cleaner format. It's an honor to create a compilation of original short movie reviews written specifically for Twit Magazine by our beloved Duane Simolke. Besides writing reviews for This Week in Texas, Duane has written the books The Acorn Stories, Degranon: A Science Fiction Adventure, Holding Me Together, and New Readings of Winesburg, Ohio. He also edited and co-wrote the spin-off The Acorn Gathering, a fund-raiser for cancer research.

If you have not seen Dreamgirls on stage or at the movies you will need to turn in your gay card immediately.  Even if you have not seen the stage or movie version you know the music.  Whether you are a Gleek or have been to even just one drag show, you have heard the act one finale “And I am telling you, I’m not going.

Wicked, Based on the novel Wicked: The Life and Times of The Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire returns to Dallas this week for its’ third run in Five Years.  The book a parallel novel to L. Frank Baums’ Oz series of books is the untold story of the Witches of Oz.

Director David DeCoteau offers horror B-movies with extremely homoerotic undertones, mostly by putting a lot of cute guys in situations together that involve wrestling, underwear, or bondage. Some of those movies are fun as guilty pleasures, but the ones I've seen never quite make the leap from gay overtones to gay.

The first major film to deal openly with HIV/AIDS, An Early Frost finally comes to DVD, courtesy of Wolfe Releasing. Nominated for fourteen Emmy Awards, this important movie arrived on TV in 1985, drawing attention to a disease no one wanted to mention, and to the stigma around it.
