Christine Gregoire for her landmark comments and endorsement of marriage equality in the Evergreen State.

A new research study released yesterday by the Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law shows that allowing same-sex couples to enter civil unions in Delaware would increase business activity but would reduce net state revenue by a small amount, or less than $400,000 a year.

The Human Rights Campaign – the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization – today praised the decisions of Judge Joseph Tauro of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts in Gill v. Office of Personnel Management and Commonwealth of Massachusetts v. Department of Health and Human Services, declaring the denial of federal rights and benefits to lawfully married Massachusetts couples under the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) to be unconstitutional.
