275K Join Eagle Scout in Urging Boy Scouts to Reinstate Lesbian Den Leader at Orlando Executive Meeting PDF Print E-mail

Zach Wahls, an Eagle Scout whose YouTube video in support of his two gay moms went viral last year, will deliver more than 275,000 petition signatures to the Boy Scouts of America’s National Annual Meeting in Orlando, urging the Scouts to reinstate Jennifer Tyrrell, a lesbian mom who was ousted as den leader of her 7-year-old son’s Cub Scout troop in Ohio. The petition, started by Tyrrell on Change.org, also urges the Boy Scouts of America to end their policy prohibiting gay scouts and gay scout leaders.

AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) today again called on the California legislature to roll back the governor’s AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) cost-sharing proposal, which threatens access to life-saving HIV drug therapies for many of the state’s poorest living with HIV/AIDS.

Harvey Milk Street Approved Unanimously – First in the Country happens in San Diego PDF Print E-mail

Today, the San Diego City Council unanimously voted to give final approval to rename a street after LGBT civil rights hero, Harvey Milk.  San Diego now becomes the first city in the country to have a street named for Harvey Milk.

A coalition of faith and humanist groups issued a letter this morning, calling on President Barack Obama to use his executive power to sign an Executive Order that would bar discrimination by federal contractors based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
