After a three-week campaign by high-profile LGBT organizations urging Orbitz to examine numerous examples of rampant anti-LGBT bigotry on News Corp's Fox News Channel, the gay-friendly travel agency has agreed to review its advertising policy to ensure that it spends its ad dollars on networks that are consistent with its core corporate values of tolerance and non-discrimination.

Hundreds of faith leaders from all 50 states, including the largest number ever of heads of Christian denominations and inter-faith religious leaders, will lobby members of Congress at the Human Rights Campaign Clergy Call for Justice and Equality 2011 in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, May 24, to support legislation to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act, to ban employment discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and protect students from discrimination and bullying.

House Committee to take aim at DADT repeal tomorrow PDF Print E-mail

Tomorrow, the House Armed Services Committee will mark up the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012.  Several Republican members of the committee have already announced that they will offer amendments to the NDAA that would slow down the repeal of the discriminatory “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” law and attempt to distract from the real issue – allowing gays and lesbians to serve free from discrimination – by once again employing scare tactics about religious liberty.
