Environment Texas, a statewide, citizen-based environmental advocacy organization, and The Texas League of Conservation Voters (TLCV), the state's leading environmental organization dedicated to electing pro-conservation candidates, today praised the Austin City Council for approving a package of incentives worth $354,000 to bring Yingli Solar, a Chinese solar company, to Austin. Seven students from the Houston area are among the 22 student artists from cities across Texas who have been selected to be a part of the Young Masters program. The Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization, U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy (D-PA), alongside lesbian, gay and straight veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, held a press conference today in coordination with a swell of average Americans fighting for repealof “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT).
