Standing onstage in black velvet robes, despite the stifling heat in the open-air church, Pastor Martin Ssempa's face is a mask of disgust. "Anal licking!," he shouts, directing the crowd's attention to the images of hardcore gay pornography that he's projecting via his laptop. "That is what they are doing in the privacy of their bedrooms." "Everything having to do with eating of poop…heterosexuals do not eat poop," Ssempa said. "And if they do, they are misguided, they are not real heterosexuals. We don't practice, that's an abomination. It's like sex with a dog, sex with a cow; it's evil." Write Comment (0 comments) |

The Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization, today added the Traditional Values Coalition’s salacious attack against the Employment Non-Discrimination Act to the EndtheLies.org website. EndtheLies.org, a website confronting lies and distortions repeatedly used to defeat LGBT equality measures, now features TVC’s recent action alert to its members where they claimed that ENDA would mean children will be taught by “men dressed as women” and forced "to learn about bizarre sexual practices.” Write Comment (0 comments) |

The highly contentious policy banning openly gay, lesbian, and bisexual individuals from serving in the U.S. military (“Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”) has been extensively debated since it was first enacted in December 1993. Since that time, many challenges to the policy have been made, but the case now garnering the most attention is one filed by the Log Cabin Republicans, which is scheduled for trial in June 2010 in Federal Court in Southern California. Log Cabin Republicans, a nonprofit group, initially filed its challenge to the constitutionality of the policy in 2004. Specifically, the lawsuit seeks a ruling that the policy violates constitutional protections of due process and freedom of speech. Write Comment (0 comments) |

The Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization, today lauded the introduction of the Military Readiness Enhancement Act of 2010 in the U.S. Senate. The bill, sponsored by U.S. Senator Joseph Lieberman (I-CT), would repeal the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) law, which prohibits lesbians and gays from serving openly in the U.S. Armed Forces. Rep. Patrick Murphy (D-PA), an Iraq War veteran and a former paratrooper in the U.S. Army's elite 82nd Airborne Division, is the lead sponsor of similar legislation in the U.S House of Representatives.
