Broadway Blackout Continues…
Though there appeared to be hope that yesterday’s negotiations between the League of American Theatres and Producers and Local One, the stagehands union, would yield an end to the strike that has darkened Broadway since November 10, talks again broke down leaving the majority of Broadway’s biggest productions closed for yet another crucial and costly day.

Broadway Stagehand Strike to Continue Through Thanksgiving Weekend
The stagehand strike that has shut down Broadway theatres for the last couple of weeks is set to continue through the lucrative Thanksgiving holiday weekend. This announcement confirms that some 27 theatres along the Great White Way will remain dark this week much to the dismay of many holiday travelers.

Broadway Goes Dark in the Face of Strike
It may not be such a happy holiday season on Broadway if the stagehand strike that began on Saturday continues through December. The majority of Broadway’s theatres went dark this past weekend as a dispute between stagehands and theatre owners and producers reached a boiling point after three months of intense negotiation.

Strike Causes Blackout on Broadway Shows
While the west coast has been focusing much attention on the Writers’ Guild strike, New York has been having some problems of its own. This week, the stage worker’s unions have threatened to go on strike, which could mean a blackout on Broadway shows like Wicked, Grease, The Lion King, Rent, Hairspray and Legally Blonde during the holiday season.

Nathan Lane Returns to Broadway in David Mamet’s 'November'
Nathan Lane has been cast as the President of the United States in David Mamet's November, a new political comedy that touches on civil marriages, gambling casinos, lesbians, American Indians, presidential libraries, questionable pardons and campaign contributions. The play, directed by Joe Mantello, begins previews on December 20 at the Barrymore Theatre and will open on January 17, 2008.
