Serena Williams Throws a Tantrum and Wins Sony Ericsson Open
Serena Williams earned her fifth title at the Sony Ericsson Open championships this weekend, but not before throwing a temper tantrum that would have made John McEnroe proud. The eighth seeded American beat out Serbian Jelena Jankovic in an up and down 6-1, 5-7, 6-3 match to reclaim her title.

Andy Roddick Loses His Temper During Loss at Indian Wells
It wasn’t a great day for top American tennis player Andy Roddick as unseeded Tommy Haas ousted him in the second round of the Pacific Life Open at Indian Wells. Roddick may have lost a few games, but his serves were not the only things broken on the court. Roddick smashed two rackets and had a few temper tantrums out of frustration before leaving the court in defeat.

Federer Falls and Sharapova Advances at Australian Open
It was a big day at the Australian Open for top seed Roger Federer yesterday, but not in the way he’d hoped. The three time champion ended his 10 straight grand slam final streak when he lost to Serbian Novak Djokovic in a dramatic semifinal round.  On the women's side, Maria Sharapova will get another chance to regain the title after being blown away at last year’s event by Serena Williams.

Maria Sharapova Creams Former Champ Lindsay Davenport at Australian Open
It was only a second round match, but Maria Sharapova’s strategy to play every game like it’s a final this year seemed to play out well as she knocked new mother Lindsay Davenport out of the Australian Open. Although, Davenport has just recently returned to the circuit, she is considered an extremely powerful competitor, but could not manage a break point in the 6-1, 6-3 match up against the young Russian phenom.

Federer Flops and Henin Tops at Tennis Season Closers
It hasn’t happened in over four years, but unstoppable tennis force Roger Federer lost two matches in a row, leaving him a tough draw to get to the top at Master's Cup. Justine Henin became the first woman to surpass the five million dollar tournament winning mark in one year when she rallied past Maria Sharapova to take home her tenth title of the year at the Sony Ericsson Championships.

This month, the outspoken advocate voiced her opinions about the political climate in the United States in Tennis Magazine after a reporter jokingly said she should go back the Czech Republic.
