Actress and reincarnation advocate Shirley MacLaine cut The View’s right-wing darling Elisabeth Hasselbeck off at the knees during an on-air interview Wednesday.
MacLaine, renowned for her books detailing her belief in past lives and her affinity for “alternative” medicine and remedies, looked an under-informed Hasselbeck in the eye and cut her off, saying, “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” when Hasselbeck attempted her best MacLaine speak on the subject of a homeopathic practice called “radionics.”
Joining The View ladies to discuss her book Sage-ing While Age-ing, now in paperback, MacLaine was expressing interest in wanting to know the reason behind Hitler, when Hasselbeck interrupted with a question about radionics, saying, “You use a machine to mix things like urine, sterile water, mold spores, dogs’ hair. What exactly is that? That had me wondering.”
MacLaine replied, “Homeopathy can be made with radionics. I don’t know enough scientifically to talk about it without looking in my book because I had to do a lot of research.”
“But this is something you mix and drink? Is it a concoction that is for / to cleanse?” Hasselbeck continued to press, prompting MacLaine to shoot her a look and say flatly, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Following the commercial break, Hasselbeck whipped out MacLaine’s book and read excerpts about the Oscar-winning actress’ practice of mixing toxins with urine, implementing radionics to cleanse it and then drinking the water that remains.
It’s a homeopathic remedy to which MacLaine ascribes, called “The Law of Similars.”
