John McCain
The newest political salvo lobbed in the 2008 race for the White House finds John McCain’s campaign cheekily proclaiming that “Hot chicks dig Obama.” The ad is the latest attempt by the McCain camp to paint Barack Obama as more rock star than leader.

The ad begins with an obviously excited narrator saying: "You've seen him in London, Paris and Berlin. Now you, too, can join 'The One's' fan club in America."

Later, in the ad the peppy narrator gushes: "We know he doesn't have much experience. And isn't ready to lead. But that doesn't mean he isn't dreamy."

Already some Obama supporters are crying foul, calling the ad racist and demeaning. Republicans call the ad just another attempt to interject a little humor into the campaign.

Take a look:

Interestingly, LA Times reporter Don Frederick points out on his blog that the new McCain ad surfaces just as former Clinton campaign architect Mark Penn, in a piece posted at, Politico.com, gave his professional blessing to the much-discussed McCain "Celebrity" ad that linked Obama to Paris Hilton and Britney Spears

Writes Penn: "Clever negative advertising works. That is reality.”
