Norman Mailer
Harvard University paid an undisclosed price for Pulitzer-winning author Norman Mailer’s steamy sex memoirs.

The university, where Mailer earned an undergraduate degree in aeronautical engineering, bought a bevy of books, letters and papers from Mailer’s former mistress Carole Mallory’s collection, including X-rated blow-by-blow descriptions of their tawdry sex life.

"There's a 20-page sex scene from an unpublished memoir I wrote called Making Love With Norman," Mallory told Page Six. "It's very steamy. Norman was a real man and he knew what he was doing."

The collection also includes Mallory’s unpublished novel, which Mailer edited, titled When I Fall in Love. The novel, about "an Arab with an eye patch who really has 20/20 vision, but wears it to get sympathy," according to Mallory, includes “a long scene which is also based on our sex life.”

"Norman dared me to write a 50-page sex scene, and he lost the bet," Mallory said.

A model and actress who appeared in the '70s classics, Looking for Mr. Goodbar and The Stepford Wives, Mallory was Mailer's mistress from 1983-1992 while he was married to his sixth wife, Norris Church.

Out of respect for Mailer’s family, Mallory, who was 19 years his junior, says she waited until Mailer passed away last year before making the more than seven boxes of material she’d collected on him public.
