H&R Block Tells Gay Couples in Connecticut: 'We Don’t Support Connecticut Civil Union Returns'
The American Civil Liberties Union sent a demand letter to H&R Block this week demanding that it change its online tax preparation system to accommodate gay couples in Connecticut with civil unions. According to the letter the ACLU sent to H&R Block, failing to provide gay couples with civil unions the option of filing their taxes online as it does for married couples is in violation of state law.Apr 1, 2008

Gay New Hampshire Couples Celebrate Civil Unions
At midnight, January 1st, gay New Hampshire residents had more than just the New Year to celebrate. The countdown to midnight also marked the countdown to legalized civil unions for same-sex couples in the state. Nearly 200 people were on hand at the State House to bear witness to a mass of couples who declared their legal commitments in a group ceremony.

Hungary Passes New Legislation to Legally Recognize Same-Sex Unions
Another European country has paved the way for same-sex couples to enter into legally recognized unions. Hungary's left-leaning parliament this week approved the Registered Partnership Act, which will beginning January 2009 provide lesbian and gay couples with almost identical rights as married heterosexual couples in common law.

Floridians Likely to Vote on Gay-Marriage Measure in 2008
Should the Florida constitution ban same-sex couples from marrying? That’s the question that will be put before the state’s voters next year. Opponents hope to keep the state from becoming the 28th in the nation to ban such marriages.

GLAAD, Brian Williams Clash Over 'Marriage Under Attack' Comment
NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams upset the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation and more than a few bloggers Monday night when he opened a segment about Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip by saying, 'In an era when marriage is under attack, the United Kingdom is these days celebrating a 60th wedding anniversary.'
