Looks like Ed McMahon could stand one of those big, fat checks he used to deliver door to door. According to the Wall Street Journal, the 85-year-old television star is facing foreclosure on his Beverly Hills home, initiated by a unit of Countrywide Financial Corp.

According to McMahon’s spokesman Howard Bragman, the former Publisher’s Clearing House spokesperson is weighing his options with the bank and is hoping to reach a resolution soon. Whether he and wife Pamela would be allowed to stay living in the home remains unclear.

CNN is reporting that McMahon is more than $600,000 in arrears on a $4.8 million loan for the six bedroom, $5.85 million Beverly Hills estate. According to reports, the home has been on the market for nearly two years.

McMahon is one of every 194 homeowners who received foreclosure notices in the first half of 2008. Nearly 650,000 foreclosures have been reported so far this year. According to the Wall Street Journal, foreclosures in America continue to grow by the day.

McMahon rose to fame as a sidekick to The Tonight Show’s Johnny Carson. His last screen role was in 2005’s Bewitched. In March, 2008, it was reported the comedian was suffering from a broken neck due to a fall.
