From Paris to London to Milan, look at any trendsetting man on the street and you’re likely to see him sporting a pair of shoes that could easily squash a bug safely ensconced in a corner head on. It’s all a part of the new sharper edged look taking over menswear. With that in mind, here’s a look at some of the best offerings of the style on the market.  

First there’s the appropriately named Latest Trend style from Kenneth Cole, which is available in genuine eel and python. Elegant and refined, this loafer would work well with everything from a tailored suit with tapered pants to a turtleneck and jeans. The crinkled patent leather Dandy Lion and Patential styles are no slouch in this department either.  

One of the best designer versions of this footwear trend comes from Paul Smith, whose wine-colored Wild Chukka boot in leather redefines the phrase “that’s hot!” At $505, this kind of fabulousness doesn’t come cheap, but I’ll be damned it if it won’t make you feel like a star. Speaking of stars, Paul Smith’s jazzy Starr dark brown wing-tip will change the way you might have previously thought about the normally conservative style.

For a splash more rock n’ roll edge, very few designers do the look better than Mark Nason, whose well crafted leather goods have fans both famous and otherwise. The top pointed styles coming out of Mark Nason for this coming season include The Cantrell which just screams urban chic, the goth inspired Traxx style, and the supremely understated Speakeasy.
