Gay Youth Make Up One-Third of New York City’s Homeless Population
according to the city’s first ever census of homeless youth which has found that, of the nearly 4,000 young people under the age of 24 who go homeless each night in New York City, nearly one-third identify themselves as gay, lesbian or bisexual.

A new study from the Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law suggests that same-sex couples with children in three states—Illinois, Michigan and Rhode Island—have fewer economic resources than their heterosexual, married counterparts.

Oklahoma Won’t Appeal Gay Parent Adoption Decision
The Oklahoma Health Department announced late last week that it will not appeal a federal appeals court ruling earlier this month that struck down a state law refusing Oklahoma birth certificates to children adopted by out-of-state same-sex couples.

Spanish Judge In Hot Seat For Denying Lesbian Parental Custody
A Spanish judicial watchdog group announced its investigation of a judge who denied a lesbian mother parental custody of her two daughters. In a ruling last month in the southeast region of Murcia, Judge Fernando Ferrin handed the girls over to their father's care, arguing that a homosexual environment threatened their education and upbringing, reports Reuters.

When I was a teenager, summer camp always seemed to turn into a scene from Mean Girls, where the popular kids verbally or literally beat the crap out of the people who were a little different. Things have certainly changed. Camping OUT is a unique place where gay and lesbian teens can share all the experiences that come with summer camp, and they can do so on their own terms.
