The New York Post reports that the reason Madonna has had so little to say about brother Christopher Ciccone’s new tell all, Life With My Sister, may have little to do with her shock over its limited revelations or the fact that she’s consumed with preparations for her upcoming concert tour. Instead some now suggest that the pop diva’s silence about her younger bro’s tome is due to the fact that she actually helped him write it.
According to the Post, an un-named insider told the paper the following about Madonna’s involvement in brother Christopher’s autobiography:
"She [Madonna] actually ghost-wrote parts of it with him, the way Princess Diana helped Andrew Morton write his book on her. That's why there's nothing too devastating in Chris's book. He's mean to others, but not so much to his sister."
Which might explain Ciccone’s harsh critique of brother-in-law Guy Ritchie’s alleged homophobia in the book and his kinder, more gentle view of his sister about whom he sticks to more well known facts. Ritchie and Madonna have been regularly rumored to be experiencing marital problems as of late.
The revelation comes as rumors circulate that the timing of the book’s release was conspicuously set to coincide with and generate publicity for Madonna’s forthcoming Sticky and Sweet tour, ticket sales for which have been the subject of controversy in and of themself.
While the New York Post last month reported that ticket sales for Madonna’s upcoming tour had been poor, Live Nation, with whom the singer recently signed a $120 million deal, refuted those claims saying that ticket sales had been brisk and more dates added to the tour schedule. According to Live Nation, as of June, the tour had already grossed $74 million.
No stranger to using controversy to her advantage, Madonna is said to turning the surrounding the announcement that she has been named in the divorce proceedings between Alex 'A-Rod' Rodriguez and his wife, into a cheeky stunt on her tour. The star has reportedly ordered three baseball jerseys with the name 'A-Rod' on the back to be worn as costumes on stage.
Reps for Madonna have not yet responded to any of the rumors.
