Much is being made of the long time affair journalist Barbara Walters admits to having with African-American U.S. Senator Edward Brooke in her new autobiography, Audition.
But the 70-something The View host revealed a much more tawdry secret in her appearance on Ellen earlier this week. In discussing her book, Walters told Ellen Degeneres that the list of names that adorn the inside cover of her book aren’t people she’s interviewed—they’re people she’s slept with.
Guess who’s name appears on the list? Ellen!
After recounting three names in particular, Walters joked, “those are the only three—out of the thousands of men that I’ve had.
“Do you see all these names,” Walters continued, opening the book. “Well some people think these are the people I’ve interviewed… not at all. These are the people I’ve slept with.”
Cue smile from Degeneres, who quickly grabbed the book and pointed out her name on the list.
“It was going to be in my book, but all right,” Degeneres cracked.
Walters has taken a lot of heat for what some suggest is a salacious tell-all, detailing her affairs with respected U.S. politicians. Since the book’s release, Walters has attempted damage control by touring the talk show circuit and explaining the book as her life in memories.
