Tricia Walsh Smith
In New York, 1-800 numbers on subways promise ‘get divorced quick’ schemes. And you can always take your case to
Divorce Court if all else fails. But in the world of modern technology, one soon to be ex took her marital woes to the Web—in the form of a YouTube video.
Tricia Walsh Smith, wife of Schubert theatre operator
Philip Smith, has taken her husband of nine years to task online, claiming he’s using a pre-nuptial agreement she signed as grounds to kick her out of their Park Avenue apartment… she claims without just cause.
The six minute video has Walsh Smith venting about everything from their non-existant sex life to what she considers an unhappy marriage. The self-described “actress/Good Egg” also makes it a point to note that her husband is 25 years her senior and that she’s around the same age as his children.
In the video, Walsh Smith notes that if her husband dies, she’s entitled to a half million dollar pension every year for the rest of her life. She claims her husband told her if he has a stroke, that money kicks into his bank account—for his children.
Though few have heard of Walsh Smith until now, she is a somewhat known New York and London playwright and occasional actress. She recently staged a series of one act plays featuring
Trudie Styler, wife of
Sting.
The Schubert Organization is the largest operator of theatres on Broadway. News of their high-profile divorce first broke in
New York Post writer
Cindy Adams’ gossip column.
