City Council Race Involving Gay Candidate Takes Nasty Turn in Fort Worth
A sitting city councilman told a Fort Worth crowd to vote for a straight Republican candidate on Wednesday, adding, 'We have two people of opposite partisan politics, opposite philosophical persuasions and opposite sexual orientations.'

High School Teacher Resigns After Gay Wrestling Video Allegations
Most schoolteachers have to take part time and summer jobs to help supplement their income, but this week a Ft. Bend, Texas teacher’s moonlighting may have cost him his job. The School board is investigating into allegations that one of their faculty members has appeared in over 50 sexually explicit, gay wrestling videos.

New Ritz-Carlton Set To Open In Dallas This August
The first Ritz-Carlton Hotel opening in the United States in four years is scheduled to take place in Dallas on August 15, 2007. The news comes on the heels of last month’s announcement that the Ritz Carlton would be closing its hotel in Hong Kong effective January, 2008.

Victory Fund Applauds Gay Candidate in Dallas Mayoral Race
The Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund commended Dallas City Councilman Ed Oakley Saturday on his historic run to become the city's next mayor. Oakley lost a runoff election Saturday to retired business executive Tom Leppert, who loaned himself hundreds of thousands of dollars to help fund his campaign. Oakley and Leppert were the top two vote- getters in a field of 11 candidates in the general election on May 12.

The Dallas Cowboys have officially revealed the much-anticipated design plans for their new stadium. The new sports and entertainment venue, which will be located in Arlington, Texas, between Dallas and Fort Worth, will become the home of the Dallas Cowboys, the country's most-watched NFL team, beginning in 2009.

Dreamgirls Star Jennifer Hudson Slams Accusation She's Homophobic
Despite appearing on the cover of this month's The Advocate and tirelessly promoting the film Dreamgirls at gay events for months, a Dallas Voice reporter suggested Jennifer Hudson had called homosexuality "a sin" in an interview with him. Now, the songstress says she has nothing but love and respect for the gay community on her official Web site.
