They say winning isn’t everything, but this week Michigan women’s basketball coach
Kevin Borseth seemed to throw that old adage out the window after a narrow loss for his team. As the video clip below shows, after his lady Wolverines lost a closely contested game 69-67 to Wisconsin, he had some pretty harsh words about the officials and took some of his aggression out on the press conference podium.
Borseth has compiled an impressive 441 victories in his 20-year tenure as head coach and lead the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay to their best school season in 2007. Earlier this year he left Wisconsin to help pull Michigan out of their seasonal slump, and in the last five months has propelled them from the worst team in the Big Ten to a long shot for the NCAA Tournament.
The Wolverines had a commanding 20-point lead heading into the last fifteen minutes of the game, but the Badgers were able to pick up several offensive rebounds, which pulled them ahead in the end.
The loss most likely will knock Michigan out of tournament contention, and Borseth clearly showed his frustration about the situation in true
Bobby Knight style in front of reporters after the game.
