Boston Red Sox Will Add Corporate Sponsor to Uniforms Despite Fans Concerns
There has long been a ban on sponsorship and logos placed on Major League Baseball uniforms, but this week it was announced the famed Boston Red Sox might be crossing over that tabooed line. During the team opening series in Japan, the Sox will now be sporting EMC corp. logos on their jersey sleeves.

Mitchell Report Reveals Extensive Drug Use in Major League Baseball
For the past 21 months there has been an on going investigation in Major League Baseball about the growing concerns of performance enhancing drug use. Lead by Senator George Mitchell the findings, which will help dictate whether MLB will continue moving forward, were presented today and included such high profile players as Roger Clemens, Andy Pettitte, Jose Canseco, Mark McGwire, and David Justice.

Major League Baseball Suspends Jay Gibbons and Jose Guillen for Doping Violations
As homerun king Barry Bonds faces federal charges that he lied to investigators about using performance-enhancing drugs, Orioles outfielder Jay Gibbons and the Royals' Jose Guillen were suspended for 15 days for violation of the MLB drug policy.

Cleveland Indian Pitcher Caught in Gay Porn Scandal Returns to Play in Japan
A few years back it was discovered that Cleveland Indians pitcher Kazuhito Tadano had been rejected by Japanese baseball clubs for appearing in a gay pornographic video. After a few mildly successful years playing ball in the United States, the talented player has now been called back to Japan to play with the Nippon Ham Fighters.

Homerun King Barry Bonds Indicted in Steroid Scandal
Just three months ago, Barry Bonds was rejoicing his 756th homerun—giving him the all time record—but now it seems that, like Olympic track star Marion Jones, his record will be permanently tarnished. This week, Bonds was charged with perjury and obstruction of justice, accused of lying about using performance-enhancing drugs.

Wow, that was quick, was probably the sentiment held by most baseball fans this weekend as they watched the Boston Red Sox annihilate the underdog Colorado Rockies in a 4-0 game victory at the 2007 World Series. After ticket sale problems and a banner year for the Rockies, the inevitable finally came to fruition, and the Sox take home their second championship in 4 years.

Gay Softball World Series Heats Up in Phoenix
Phoenix may be hot, but on October 1st it will be scorching as the city hosts the 2007 Gay Softball World Series. Presented by the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance, the annual event caters to 56 softball leagues from 35 cities in North America who come together to compete and raise money for LGBT charities.
